The CSS 3 "background-size: cover" property will take an image and display it on the page's background, filling in the entire screen, without leaving any kind of whitespace.
As the browser is resized, so is the image, making sure it always covers the entire screen, without leaving areas where the default white background shows through.
jQuery Cover mimics this behavior, but via jQuery code only, even when the browser is resized.
The jQuery Cover plugin can be used to support responsive images on a page, or it can be used as a fallback for older browsers, where the background-size property is not supported.
A simple demo page is included with the download package.
